Random and Pointless Crap by Abigail

Add caption
My daughter is beautiful and she hates cake.  My son is handsome and he hates cake too. I was there when they were born but I have doubts if they are my genetic kids.

I love cake. Yellow cake, Chocolate cake, Lemon cake, any cake that is delicious and can be baked, I will at my leisure partake. But the daughter I gave birth to on Easter Sunday does not like cake. How could that be! Her mother LOVES and ADORES cake.

My sons smile is warm and inviting, he walks with the ultimate of manly confidence. While his father is handsome, my son clean up nice. He loves to smile, he charming and he likes people. I on the other hand avoid people, smile when I have to and I am cute but not as cute and charming as my son and he hates cake too.

I often wonder how I went right in rearing the children. Looking at their faces I wonder who their real mother is cause she ain’t me, I love cake!

The Thomas Crown Affair & The American President

I absolutely adore the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair with Pierce Brosnon and Rene Russo. Almost as much as I adore The American President with Kirk Douglas and Annette Bennett.
It’s hard to find great love stories with older women and men as characters. Most often love is for the young and fleetingly beautiful. O’ how I hate I missed the golden age of movies when An Affair to Remember was on the big screen.

The cat and mouse game that these two older couples play, always seems richer and deeper. I was a rather young woman when both The American President and The Thomas Crown remake came to the screen, but I appreciated the depth of the characters and the beauty in the way that each couple seemed too timed and shy with each other.

I am a sucker for love…..

Life with Abigal!

What I’ve learn in life could fill a six page book. That being said, I guess you could say I have learned very little about life.
Everyone knows that life is hard. We all get that. Yet, we all revel in those sweet moments when good things happen.

Greek philosopher Aristotle published a metaphysical work that included the first known classification of everything whatsoever, or being. I’ve always loved Aristotle and the train of thought that lead him to write “whatsoever, or being.”  If you classified me, I would be your average 40-something, divorced mom of two, with a Collie named Lucy who thinks she’s human. I get the feeling I would fall under the classification of “whatsoever, or being. No, I am not from another planet.  Although there are time when I get my dander up and you would swear I am from Mars.

I am just your average grammar and punctuation challenged mom ,who’s crumbling under the pressure of life ,I suppose. I have two kids in college and their demands on my merger salary are outrageous.  The old Jetta needs new tires, I need a new pair of shoes and Lucy needs a hug. Life’s just that tough for old Jane Bond these day. Did I mention the ex-husband who’s creeping his way back into the house?

Whatever I’ve learn in life can truly fit into a six page book.

1.      Life is hard yet, there should be someone in your life that can commiserate with you on occasion

2.      Your mom was right. Nothing good happens after midnight if your sad and lonely ex-husband shows up with a bottle of wine and great chocolate.

3.      Kids cost money and they NEVER go AWAY. They usually bring other people back to your house to live, ask for money and drive you crazy. You might have started out with two kids but before it’s over you’ll have ten who act like you gave birth to them.

4.      Great Grammar & Punctuation is all it’s cracked up to be. Trying being an author and having screwed up grammar.

5.      I once dreamed I was the Greek historian Herodotus seeing the Ishtar Gate for the first time. Funny thing is I was twelve and had never heard of Herodotus or Ishtar’s Gate.

6.      I also accept the responsibility that goes with ignoring all life’s problems. Rather than deal with life’s hardship, I think I’ll have a shower and an ice cream cone.

A Poets Misguided Soul

I have the heart of a woman and the misguided soul of a poet . My random musing are quite disconcerting. I rambl about unrequited love and misguided affection. What holds me to this quest to be a poet you ask?
Writers block.
Try as I might I can't seem to write. The more I try the more the words of desolate poet come out. I am a poet without a dream, a poet with a writers soul, a failed poet who exceeds at nothing. I am a dreary soul looking for an outlet

Cheese, Wine and A Good Book

I love cheese so much that I consider myself a cheese connoisseur.   Give me good book, a bottle of wine and a platter of fruit and cheese and I ready to spend the evening in another world.  There is for me, something totally decadent about eating cheese, fruit and a nice bottle of chardonnay.

I don’t have a favorite cheese. I actually love them all. Swiss, Cheddar, Muster, Colby, Gouda Sharp White Cheddar, Brie, they all have a place on my fruit and cheese platter.  I often sit in front of the fireplace in my bedroom, reading, listening to music, while enjoying a nice bottle of white wine; while I devour a platter of cheese, and fruit. When I am really feeling decadent I have Brie  with apricots in a wonderful puff pastry with walnuts. Grapes, apples, pears, apricots and

When I plan to spend the day writing or reading, I make the most elegant of cheese and fruit platters. Overflowing with fruit cheese, nuts, olives crostini, crackers and mustard (a personal favorite).  I sit in my favorite chair are at my desk I spend the day enjoying myself with this wonderful treat.

Abby's Dream Cars

If I could have any five car in the world I would first select the Fiat 500 Jolly. What an awesome car. The Jolly was a favorite of the rich and famous when it was first introduced into the European car market.  Fiat Jolly’s are just the cutest cars. The wicker seats and open sides are perfect for the beach for which they were created to carry their riders.

I also add the Model T to my car collection. What a beautiful car. I love the ambiance of the Model T. How much fun would I have driving around down, top down, hair blowing in the air.
